Abstract

On the basis of fairly well preserved specimens of a holopodid crinoid of the genus Cyathidium, a new species of this genus is described: Cyathidium vlieksi sp. nov. As yet, fossils of this crinoid were found only in the Upper Maastrichtian of the province of Limburg. They occur in the Kunrade facies of the Maastricht Formation as well as in the type-area of the Maastrichtian stage (Maastricht, The Netherlands).
