Sources of information for the preparation of engineering-geological maps in the Netherlands

Abstract

The growing interest for engineering-geological maps in The Netherlands has led in recent years to a search for possible sources of engineering-geological information. The object of this paper is to show where the necessary information for the construction of this type of maps is available. The data in this paper were obtained through interviews and by means of an inquiry. The results indicate that the large governmental and semi-official organisations and the geotechnical bureaus are the principal sources of engineering-geological information in The Netherlands.
