Abstract

A detailed description is given of the metallurgical complex comprising a concentrator, electrolytic zinc plant, sinter plant, Imperial Smelting Furnace and lead refinery used to produce refined lead and two grades of zinc at the Broken Hill mine in Kabwe, Zambia. Flow sheets and 1970 production details are included.
